Vikram Simhapuri University, Nellore

Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) is a public state university located in the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The university was established in 2008 with six courses. Now, the university is offering 17 Post Graduate courses in University College

Formaiton:
On April 12, 2010, the government of Andhra Pradesh passed a G.O. that all the colleges in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district which at present affiliated to Sri Venkateswara University are affiliated to VSU. With these orders SVU PG Centre in Kavali, NBKR Engineering College in Vidyanagar, 52 degree and PG colleges, 12 MBA/MCA colleges, V.R. Law college, 12 B.Ed colleges, two oriental colleges in SPSR Nellore District came under VSU. Later on, NBKR Engineering college shifted its affiliation to JNTU Anantapur.
Campus:
VSU doesn't have its own buildings. It is started with an administrative building at Dargamitta, Nellore. Regular classes are at V.R. High School Campus (Old Law College Campus), Nellore.

Campus construction is in process at Kakutur, Nellore in 87 acres (350,000 m2) provided by the government of Andhra Pradesh

Academics:
The University is primarily an under graduate and post-graduate university. VSU conducts its own entrance examinations VSURESET & VSUPGCET for all courses each year. The University offers variety of courses which include B.A, B.Com, B.Sc, B.B.A, B.B.O.L, L.L.B, B.Tech and M.Sc, M.A, M.F.A, M.Tech, M.B.A, M.C.A, M.Phil and Ph.D degrees.

Criticism:

From the inception of the university, there is a lot of criticism on the recruitment process of this university. Former Vice-Chancellor G.Rajarami Reddy mainly focused on recruitment than developing infrastructure results in not attaining University Grants Commission (India) 12 B Status till now. He recruited 19 Teaching Faculty members in the month of December 2013 where there are no tourism studies qualified fraternity in the department of tourism management and no biotechnology qualified fraternity in the department of biotechnology. He even malpracticed the roster points by showing integrated biotechnology as biotechnology in the recruitment notification. The 45 members Non-Teaching recruitment was criticized widely that the posts of Deputy Registrar, Assistant Registrar and Senior Assistants were given to those who didn't have essential qualifications as per UGC Norms.
Also the recruitment was happened in the period of June 2014 where there is ban on recruitments and appointments in the state of Andhra Pradesh based on a government order. Without any parallel government order to the above government order, this fraudulent recruitment happened. The issue is under the view of honorable Lokayukta Andhra Pradesh for necessary inquiries and action. Also while inaugurating the new official web domain simhapuriuniv.ac.in of the university, the key people here grossly neglected safe guarding and renewing the old official web domain simhapuriuniv.org results in misuse of the old domain by some fake degree racketeers. This issue came to light on August 14, 2014.Fake degrees of this university were widely available in North India. The government of Chattisgarh state black listed the degrees of this university upon the orders of Chattisgarh Log Aayog and further the government permitted acceptance of this university degrees upon prior verification only

About:
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University College of Engineering Anantapur is located in India. It's one of the three Constituent Units viz. with JNTUA College of Engineering and Pulivendula and Oil Technological Research Institute in Anantapur. It was started in 1946 and in 1972 became a constituent college of the University. The college offers 4-years B.Tech regular programmer in: Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering.

Indian universities don't figure in the QS Top 200 rankings for 2011-12, not even elite institutions like the IITs and Indian Institute of Science.

Despite huge efforts to restructure college and school systems, education in India suffers from ancient rote-learning methods, and schools still churn out robotic students rather than instil in them the curiosity to find real knowledge. Capable teachers are getting rarer, but this doesn’t seem to discourage foreign universities from setting up campuses in this country.

The education sector urgently needs to reinvent itself and the budget increases it needs are available. Rankings are not what should be improved. The quest to acquire knowledge is what must be encouraged at every level.

Acharya Nagarjuna University

Acharya Nagarjuna University (IAST: Ācārya Nāgārjuna Vișvavidyālaya) is a university in the region of Namburu, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is one of several major universities in the country, covering many colleges and institutes of districts in the region. It is located in Nagarjuna Nagar, Namburu, in the northern part of Guntur City, a major centre of learning for the state of Andhra Pradesh.

The centre gained affiliating-university status in 1976 and would open with ten post-graduate courses. The university is named after Acharya Nagarjuna, the founder of the Madhyamaka path of Mahayana Buddhism.

ACHARYA NAGARJUNA UNIVERSITY - HISTORY:
Acharya Nagarjuna, the profounder of the Madhyamika Buddhism is one of the greatest philosophers India has ever produced. The Buddhists of China, Japan and Tibet river him to be the Second Buddha, who once again set in the motion the wheel of Dharma. He endowed with metaphysical profundity and logical acumen has reaffirmed the basic ideas of Buddhism, apart from providing reinterpretation, clarification and amplification of new concepts of Buddhism. He focused on the fundamental problems of human existence, human aspiration and human actions. He found solutions to them through intuition and reflective thought. He applied and practiced these solutions and his doctrine and experience become a norm to motivate rational and sensitive minds of different generation in different countries with varied cultural environment. Hanayama Shinsho recognizing Nagarjuna's contribution has opined that ‘he may well be called the progenitor of Mahayana thought'.
The Madhyamika-karika testifies to the historicity to their author Nagarjuna, the great Buddhist philosopher, who extolled the path of Prajnaparamita. He wrote the Karika in order to expound the basic teaching of the Prajnaparamita-sutras. The recent archaeological discoveries at Amaravati corroborate to certain extent the broad facts about Nagarjuna's life on which his traditional biographies agree. He was born in a Brahmin family in Andhradesa at Vedali. Based on the Chinese author Tao-an (A.D.568) and Kumarjivas' account and his date for Buddha' nirvana and other material of a Japanese Scholar Hakaju concluded that Nagarjuna lived about 113-213 A.D. The fact being his friendship with a Satavahana King Gautamiputra Satakarni (130-150 A.D.) and his having spent the latter part of his career in the monastery built for him by this king at Bhramaragiri (Sriparvata). The Manjuasrimulakalpa and Tibetan sources contend that Nagarjuna had the Amaravati stupa renovated, enclosed and ornamented with the assistance of this King. Dhanyakataka and Sriparvata were the Centers of his activity. Rajatarangini of 11 th century treats him as a contemporary of Kanishka.
